If someone had told me last year that I was going to sing in an a capella group in Martha's Vineyard over the summer, I would have laughed and called them crazy. To give you some context about myself, I study physics and engineering at Wesleyan University. I am also a captain of the Men's Club Soccer team and work in a biophysics lab. On the weekends, I worked as a tour guide for admissions and managed to squeeze in rehearsal for my s
chool a capella groups at night. Singing is one of my many passions, but I would have never thought it would consume my life for an entire summer. Before I even heard about the Vineyard Sound I was planning on staying at Wesleyan over the summer to work in my research lab. Yet everything went out the window when Sam and Connor told me about an incredible experience I could have while singing with them and seven other guys on a beautiful island for the summer. It took me forever to decide whether I was going to put everything to the side and follow them to Martha's Vineyard. I sought advice from my parents, friends, academic advisors, and teachers. They all told me the same thing: go sing. At the time, they all knew how rare and unique such an experience is in life. After about a month of consideration, I decided to join Vineyard Sound.
